Every Detail Matters: Architectural Concrete in AFA’s “Mega-Parnas” Project

Even the smallest elements of urban landscaping require precision, expressiveness, and long-term durability. High-performance cast architectural concrete delivers all of this better than any other material. It allows the creation of decorative concrete elements with exceptional detail — the kind of precision no alternative material can match.

In 2025, we produced two seemingly simple objects: a concrete anchor and a ship bas-relief. These elements became part of the themed play area designed around the concept of “marine excavations” in the AFA bureau’s landscaping project for the Mega-Parnas shopping complex in Saint Petersburg. According to the architects’ concept, the elements are partially embedded in sand, creating the effect of discovered artifacts.

Architectural concrete in detail

  • Precise reproduction of form and texture, down to the smallest relief elements.
  • Strength and resistance to temperature fluctuations, moisture, and intensive use in public spaces.
  • Flexibility in scale, from miniature details to large architectural structures.

About the AFA “Mega-Parnas” project

AFA developed a landscaping concept focused on play, atmosphere, and strong visual imagery. The “marine excavation” theme unites sand zones, play structures, and decorative objects. Our cast architectural concrete pieces complemented this concept, emphasizing attention to detail and high-quality execution.

Architectural concrete is a material that performs equally well in both large structures and small decorative elements. It retains its aesthetics, strength, and expressiveness for years, even under active public use.
